This article walks you through the core setup process, explains how key areas of the system work, and answers the most common questions covered during our live Setup & Q&A call.
If you’re brand new โ start at the top and follow along step-by-step.

๐ Getting Started in Investment Dominator 2.0
When you log into Investment Dominator, youโll land on the Home Screen.
From here you can:
- View your KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- See upcoming tasks and calendar items
- Navigate to all major sections
- Switch between Legacy and 2.0 (if needed)
๐ก If you ever feel lost, click the Investment Dominator logo in the top left corner to return to the Home Screen.
๐ค Your Profile (Start Here First)
Navigate to:
Top Right โ Profile
This section controls your personal login information.
What You CAN Edit:
- Name
- Phone number (personal)
- Password
- Signature image
- Profile photo
- Time zone
โ ๏ธ What You Should NOT Edit:
Your email address.
Your login email is tied to:
- Your Investment Dominator account
- Add-ons
- Data Service credits
- Student portal access
If you change it inside the profile, you risk creating a second account and disconnecting add-ons.
If you need to change your email, contact support first.
โ๏ธ Adding Your Signature
Your signature appears on your prospect letters.
You can:
- Upload a signature image
- Draw it
- Type your name and choose a font
This is the only outward-facing element in your profile.

Go to:
Top Menu โ Settings
Youโll see:
- Company
- Account
- Campaigns
- Records
- Websites
- Files
Letโs break down the most important ones.
๐ข Company Settings (Buying & Selling Sides)
Investment Dominator separates your business into:
- Buying Side (Acquisitions)
- Selling Side (Disposition)
You will need separate phone numbers for each.
๐ Phone Number Setup
Minimum recommended setup:
- 1 Buying Phone Number
- 1 Selling Phone Number
Why?
Buying side phone:
- Used on neutral letters
- Receives high call volume
- May be handled by:
- VA
- Call center (ex: Pat Live)
- AI receptionist
Offer phone:
- Used for negotiation
- Should be answered by someone authorized to negotiate
Selling phone:
- Used on property listings
- Buyers call to make offers
Keeping these separate keeps your workflow organized.
๐ข Company Address
Do NOT use your home address.
Recommended options:
- Virtual mailbox
- Suite address
- Mail scanning service
This protects your privacy and keeps your business professional.
๐ Account Tab (Billing & Domains)
This section connects to your Account Management Center.
Here you can:
- Update payment methods
- Manage add-ons
- See your CRM ID number
- Cancel or downgrade
- Manage domains
You receive:
- 2 Free Domains
- 2 Free Websites (Buying & Selling)
If you need help connecting your domain (ex: GoDaddy), submit a support ticket and request a screen share session.

Navigate to:
Prospecting โ Records
This is where all properties live.
๐ Status vs Stage (Important!)
This is one of the most common questions.
Stage = The Big Category
Examples:
- Prospect
- Marketing
- Selling
- Closed
Status = The Specific Position inside a Stage
Examples:
- Mail Sent
- Pending Preliminary Research
- Offer Sent
- Under Contract
You can customize both:
Settings โ Records โ Stages / Statuses
You can:
- Create new stages
- Assign icons
- Control which actions are allowed
- Pin to your primary menu
๐งฎ Offer Calculator (2.0 Behavior)
In 2.0:
When you change the Market Value inside the Offer Calculator:
You must:
- Enter new Market Value
- Confirm Offer Amount
- Click Save
- Exit
- Reopen the record to see updated numbers
In Legacy, this updated instantly.
In 2.0, it saves into the record after confirmation.
๐ Finding Deals (Data Service Search)
Navigate to:
Prospecting โ Wizards โ Find Deals
Steps:
- Select State
- Select County
- Adjust Filters
- Click Refresh (VERY important)
If you change:
- Acreage
- Market value
- Land use codes
- Owner type
You must click Refresh before moving forward.
If you skip refresh, your filters wonโt apply.
๐บ Viewing Properties on Map
Inside any record:
Click the Map preview to:
- See terrain
- Zoom in
- View GPS location
Most vacant land does NOT have street addresses.
You will use GPS coordinates instead.
โ Adding a Property Manually
Navigate to:
Prospecting โ Actions โ Add Property
You can:
- Attach to existing owner
- Create new owner
- Enter APN manually
Youโll need required starred fields completed to save.
๐ How Website Leads Appear
Buying website submissions show up:
- Under Prospect Stage
- In โAllโ tab (most recent first)
- With notification (if enabled)
Make sure notifications are enabled in:
Profile โ Notifications
๐ Skip Tracing
Every account includes monthly skip traces.
To run one:
- Open Property
- Click Owner tab
- Click Actions
- Select Skip Trace Owner
- Confirm
If successful, phone and/or email will populate in Owner section.
๐ฅ Adding a VA or Team Member
Go to:
Top Menu โ Team
You can:
- Add team member
- Assign role (Rep or Admin)
- Limit permissions
Reps:
- Can update records
- Cannot manage account settings
Admins:
- Full system access
๐ Website Customization
Navigate to:
Settings โ Websites
Depending on your theme (ex: Sunshine theme), customization may be limited.
Editable options typically include:
- Menu text color
- Background colors
- Header/Footer text
- Phone numbers
If something cannot be edited:
Submit a ticket with:
- Screenshot
- Exact change requested
Some developer-built templates have limited customization.
๐ง How Many Emails Do You Need?
Technically:
- One email is enough.
You only need additional emails if:
- Running advanced campaigns
- Managing multiple brands
- Delegating negotiation
Email does NOT automatically appear on your prospect letter unless you include it manually.
